Centering Descriptors

Abbreviatons we use to describe centering of a stamp.
S
Superb Most rarely used. All 4 sides are equal to each other
VF+ VF+ Very Fine +. either the 2 sides or the top and bottom measure the same and the other two sides are almost the same size as the two sides that are the same. Very minutely shy of being S.
VF VF Very Fine the top and bottom are the same size as each other, and the 2 sides are the same as each other, but are a different size than the other.
FVF+ FVF+ either the top and bottom or the sides is the same. The other demension is just shy of being the same.
FVF FVF All 4 sides are cleared well of the design, but not equal to each other. Still a well centered stamp, and fits most decent stamps on the market today.

F+ F+ Three sides well centered, the other a little closer than FVF.
F F Three sides fairly well centered, the 4th is close but a little space between the perfs and design.
JF JF Three sides fairly well centered, the forth sides has the perfs right against the design, but NO perfs actually cut into the design.
VG VG The perfs cut into the design on one side.
AVG AVG Average 2 sides have perfs cutting into the design.
P P Poor. 3 or more sides cut into the design.
Space Filler...Its a recognizable copy of the stamp with major condition
problems.
